Software Updates

NVivo automatically checks for software updates, and notifies you when an update to your installed NVivo software is available. Software updates can include enhancements and fixes for known issues. We recommend that you install NVivo software updates when they become available.

Understand software update options

NVivo automatically checks for software updates weekly, and notifies you when an update to your installed NVivo software is available.

If any software updates are available, the NVivo - Software Update Available dialog box is displayed. You can select:

  • Skip this Update - If you select this option, NVivo will ignore this update. You will not be notified about this particular update again.

  • Remind Me Later - Select this option if you do not want to download the update now, but want the opportunity to download it in the future. You will be reminded about the update the next time that NVivo checks for software updates.

  • Download Now - Select this option to download and install the software update.

Manually check for software updates

Ensure that you are connected to the Internet.

  1. Click the File tab.

  2. Click Product Info.

  3. Click Check for Software Updates.

    NVivo checks whether any software updates are available for download.

Disable automatic checks for software updates

  1. Click the File tab, and then click Options.

  2. The Application Options dialog box opens.

  3. Click the Notifications tab.

  4. In the Check for software updates list, select Never.

  5. Click OK.
