AI Assistant: Summarize

Using the AI Assistant: Summarize option, you can select one or more items, such as audio, video, PDF documents, codes, and cases, to automatically generate summaries. You can then save these summaries as linked memos for each selected item.

NOTE  AI Assistant does not support surveys.

You can generate summaries in the required language and length:

1. In the List View, select one or more item(s) that you want to summarize.

2. Right-click and select AI Assistant: Summarize.

   

3. If the Artificial Intelligence Terms of Use dialog is displayed, follow the steps below:

   1. Click the AI Terms of Use link in the dialog.

      Lumivero Artificial Intelligence Terms of Use page is displayed for you to read.

   2. Return to NVivo, check the confirmation check box.

   3. Click OK.

4. Select the preferred Summary Language and Summary Length.

5. Click Generate.

   

6. Select each source item and review the corresponding summary in the AI Summarization section.

   When the first item's summary is displayed, its status will change to Generated. Review the provided summary and click Add Memo to accept the AI summary as a memo. You can also click the Generate button again to have AI re-generate a summary. Alternatively, you can click Skip to progress and highlight the next item. The status for each item will change to Complete or Skipped as you choose.

   

7. Click OK when all items have been reviewed or click Cancel to stop reviewing and close the dialog.

   The summaries are saved as memos under Notes -> Memos - > AI Summaries folder. The AI generated memos are saved with "AI" prefix and linked to the corresponding source files.
