Select code items

The Select code items dialog lets you choose an existing node or case to code to. You can also create new nodes in this dialog.

You can also search for and code to relationships and sentiment nodes in this dialog.

You can't add descriptions for nodes or cases in this dialog, but you can do it later in List View.

Code to a node or case

  1. Select the node or case you want to code to. To select multiple items, press CTRL and then click the items.
  2. Click OK to code to the selected items. A confirmation message displays briefly in the status bar to indicate that coding is successful.

Create and code to a node or case

  1. Select a folder or node in the list where you want to create a new node or case.
  2. Click New Node or New Case. A new node or case is created under the selected folder, node or case.
  3. Type a name for the node or case then press ENTER.
  4. Click OK to code to this node or case. A confirmation message displays briefly in the status bar to indicate that coding is successful.

NOTE  You can't create new relationship or sentiment nodes.

Other actions

Use the search box in this dialog to search for nodes and cases that contain your search term.

Use the right-click shortcut menu on an item to access other functions like renaming, creating and deleting nodes.
